Zoom Room hardware is bought by room, not by preference. A four-person huddle room and a sixteen-seat boardroom need different cameras, different microphone coverage and a different budget, and the single most common mistake is buying one kit type and deploying it everywhere. Certified kits ship pre-validated for Zoom Rooms, which matters because it means the camera, mic and controller are known to work together rather than being assembled by hope. The options below are grouped by the room they actually suit.
All-in-one bar for huddle rooms up to 6 people
A single bar containing camera, speakers and beamforming microphones, mounted above or below the display. Appliance mode runs Zoom Rooms natively without a separate PC, which removes the most common point of failure in small-room deployments. AI-driven framing keeps whoever is speaking in shot. For most Indian offices adding their first few rooms, this is the sensible default.

Compact all-in-one with strong room analytics
Designed specifically around Zoom, with a clean single-device install and no separate compute. Its people-count and air-quality sensors feed occupancy data back, which is genuinely useful if you are trying to work out whether your rooms are the right size before signing a new lease. Pairs with the Neat Pad as a controller and scheduling display.
Best for: Small to mid rooms where install simplicity matters most
Mid-room bar with strong audio pickup
A video bar with notably good microphone performance in rooms with hard surfaces — relevant in a lot of Indian office fit-outs where glass and stone are common and acoustic treatment is not. Runs Zoom Rooms natively in appliance mode. Pairs with the Poly TC8 touch controller.
Best for: Medium rooms, 6-10 seats, acoustically difficult spaces
Modular system for boardrooms
A component system rather than a bar: PTZ camera, separate speaker units and multiple table or ceiling microphone pods. This is what you use when one bar cannot cover the room — a long boardroom table needs mic pods distributed along it, not a single array at the front. Requires a separate compute appliance running Zoom Rooms.
Best for: Boardrooms and large meeting rooms, 10-20 seats
Value option for rolling out many rooms
Android-based all-in-one bars certified for Zoom Rooms, typically priced below the Logitech and Poly equivalents. Where the budget has to cover eight rooms rather than two, this is usually how it gets done. The A20 suits huddle rooms, the A30 adds wider coverage and a better speaker for mid-size rooms.
Best for: Multi-room rollouts where per-room cost is the constraint
The part people forget to budget for
Every Zoom Room needs a controller — a tablet on the table or wall that starts meetings and manages the room. It is a separate line item from the bar and is routinely left out of first quotes. A scheduling display outside the room is optional but stops the single most common office complaint, which is people walking into a room already in use.

Yes. Zoom Rooms is licensed per room, per year, and is separate from your user licences and from the hardware cost. A room needs the licence, the hardware kit and a controller. Budget all three or the first invoice will be a surprise.
Appliance mode means the bar runs Zoom Rooms on its own internal compute, with no separate mini-PC in the room. Fewer devices means fewer things to fail, patch and support — which matters a lot once you are running more than two or three rooms. Prefer appliance-mode kits unless you have a specific reason not to.
For a personal desk, yes. For a shared room, it works badly — a desk webcam cannot frame a table of eight, and a USB speakerphone will not cover a boardroom. Certified room kits exist because room audio and framing are genuinely different problems from desk audio and framing.
As a rough rule, one microphone pod covers about 3 metres of table. A 6-metre boardroom table needs two or three pods, or ceiling microphones. This is the sizing step most often skipped, and it is why people at the far end of the table are asked to repeat themselves.
Yes, through an authorised partner. You get the kit billed in INR against your GSTIN, manufacturer warranty valid in India, and — importantly — someone to call when a room stops working. Grey-market imports often carry warranty that cannot be claimed locally.
