Vyapar · GST Guide
An e-way bill is required for moving goods worth more than ₹50,000, and generating it from the NIC portal separately from your invoice means entering the same data twice. Vyapar can push invoice data straight to the e-way bill system once the API connection is set up. The setup is a one-time job that most people get stuck on, so it is worth doing carefully.
Yes, once the e-way bill API credentials are configured in Vyapar. After that, generating from an invoice is a single action and the consignment data is taken from the invoice rather than retyped, which removes the mismatch risk between invoice and e-way bill.
Almost always the credentials. The e-way bill API user is created separately on the portal under Registration, and is not the same as your portal login. Confirm you created an API user, that it is against the same GSTIN as in Vyapar, and that the password has not expired.
Generally ₹50,000 consignment value, applying to both inter-state and intra-state movement — but intra-state thresholds and exemptions vary by state, and some goods are exempt entirely. Check the rules for the states you move goods between rather than assuming a single national figure.
Broadly one day per 200 km for regular cargo, with different rules for over-dimensional consignments. Validity counts from when Part-B vehicle details are entered. It can be extended if the consignment is delayed, but only before it expires.
Within 24 hours, yes, provided it has not been verified in transit. After that the generator cannot cancel it, though the recipient can reject it within 72 hours. Check the same day — that is the practical rule.
We set up Vyapar for Indian businesses including GST and e-way bill integration, inventory and multi-user access — with a GST invoice for the licence.
