Below that horizon rental wins; beyond it, buying wins — and you still own the licence afterwards. Rental makes clear sense for project-duration needs, for businesses that genuinely cannot commit capital, or where you want to run Tally for a season and stop. It makes less sense as a permanent arrangement for a stable business. Note also that rental typically includes updates for the rental period, whereas perpetual owners pay TSS separately.
